The Best Theme Parks In Los Angeles
LA has two great things going for it - some superb beaches and a wealth of fantastic theme parks to delight and amaze you.
But while you may want to visit one or two of the beaches during your stay in Los Angeles, make sure you have plenty of time to experience the various theme parks that are on offer.
Universal Studios is probably one of the most famous and best loved of all the parks. This is partly because it offers more than just one experience. Not only do you have the actual theme park, you also have the tour of the movie studios to look forward to. This is unmissable if you want a chance to see the stars.
Even if you aren't lucky enough to see anyone famous, you'll certainly see lots of famous movie sets. This is one of the main reasons why so many people enjoy the tour. How much of it will look familiar to you?
If you are visiting with the whole family then Disneyland will be another good place to visit. Alongside the big rides there are smaller ones that are designed for the younger members of the family to enjoy. This is definitely another location which requires a full day to appreciate the best of it.
Many of the theme parks are designed to ensure that all the family has plenty of fun. So even though they aren't the cheapest days out you will certainly get your money's worth from each one. Make sure you grab a map for each theme park as soon as you arrive; it's a good idea to sit down for a few moments and figure out where you would like to go first. Then you can plan a route round the park you are visiting, to make sure you take in the best it has to offer.
Another great option to consider when visiting Los Angeles is Legoland. If you played with Lego when you were younger you will know just how addictive it can be. And there is nothing quite like seeing Miniland, which contains scale reproductions of famous sights in the US including the Statue of Liberty.
There are several more theme parks to visit in LA as well, and they are all within a reasonable distance of each other. This means that you can choose a hotel that puts you nice and close to several of the parks. There are lots of Los Angeles hotels available so you will be sure to find one that suits your needs and requirements.
Remember too that some of the theme parks can be booked in advance, which can sometimes save you money. It's worth doing your research before you go in order to make your theme park visits even more memorable.

For those against a border fence, how do you suggest we deal with these guys? - granted they should be in jail

"Deportations have helped create an "unending chain" of gang members moving between the U.S. and Central America, said Rodrigo Avila, El Salvador's vice minister of security.
"It's a merry-go-round."
Turnaround in El Salvador
Cruz-Mendoza has been riding the merry-go-round for eight years.
He was a minor when he was deported in 1997 and again in 1998, federal immigration officials said.
In December 2003, he was convicted of attempted robbery, after he shoved a woman into a fence while trying to steal her purse at a South Los Angeles bus stop, court records show. As he demanded money, she said, he made threatening gestures and reached into his pocket, where police found a six-inch steak knife when he was arrested shortly thereafter.
In March 2004, he pleaded guilty to a second felony of drug possession, which was dismissed in a sentencing deal for the attempted robbery.
After serving little more than a year in jail, Cruz-Mendoza was deported for a third time in January, records and interviews show.
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested him in Arizona a month later. At that point, he could have been charged with a felony for reentering the country after deportation, which could have landed him in federal prison for as long as 20 years.
Instead, federal court records show he struck another plea deal with the U.S. attorney's office in Arizona, admitting to a "petty offense" of being in the country illegally. He was ordered to serve 90 days and pay a $10 fine, and was put on the July flight to San Salvador.
He shouldn't have gotten off that easy, federal prosecutors now acknowledge.
At the San Salvador airport, Cruz-Mendoza is waiting to be interviewed by police. He talks about his plans to get back to the U.S. and make a profit in the process.
- in checking him in, the El Salvador officials are most concerned that he not be planning to stay, so he assures them he 'always' returns to the US, having family here.
As he hustles out of the airport, Cruz-Mendoza spots the MS-13 member from Washington, a 24-year-old with U.S. drug convictions who says he has been deported three times.
The East Coast gang member waves and calls out: "See you in L.A." By late September, Cruz-Mendoza is back somewhere in Los Angeles, according to family members in El Salvador."
So, if you don't want a fence, what would your plan be?

Where is the closest greyhound bus station to LAX? Is there a shuttle from the station to the airport?
Hey everyone, I need to get from San Diego to the LAX airport. I need to know which of the Los Angeles bus terminals are closest to the air port, and if there is a shuttle to the airport. If there's no shuttle, how much should I expect to pay for a taxi? I haven't been to the states in a very long time, so I'm not sure how much prices have gone up.
